On the outside things often look different than they truly are.
I really enjoyed this comic diary zine. I'm a huge fan of comic diaries; some know them as autobio comics. It was pretty cool getting Kamila's perspective on things that can be quite stressful. She used humor pretty well. I chuckled a few times.
I also really appreciated her artwork, especially the quirky and indie feel. I loved the four short comics in her zine.
1) Positive Thinking In Traffic
This comic was one of my favorites. She was trying to remain positive on a stressful day, which everyone can relate to.
My favorite panels:
2) Hearts & Noughts
Another one of my favorites. I could really relate to this one. I enjoyed the different scenarios she was trying to ignore, and I loved the colors used. It really made me think of love and Valentine's Day.
My favorite page spread in the whole comic zine:
3) Watermoron
This story was cute. I liked how the watermelon got the last laugh at the end.
4) Faces of Driving
I enjoyed the witty nature of this comic. All the faces drawn with their thought processes being shown made me laugh.
This was my favorite one:
After taking a look at Kamila's Weird is the Best website, I am a fan of her art style. I'll definitely keep an eye out for her other works, especially her 1-year comic diary book coming out in July.
I RECOMMEND this book to read.
Keep smiling,
