Comic Review: SISSONNE #1 by Lee Newman and Reinaldo Lay Contreras

***Read it free in exchange for a review***

Mark may not be the coolest superhero on the block, but he does his best...Until his secret identity gets blown, sending his life into a tailspin. Can Mark pick up the pieces of his once perfect life?

I loved this comic, especially the colors used. I laughed through the whole thing because sarcasm, self-deprecating humor will always be my favorite. What can I say--my role model growing up was Daria. The comedy in this comic reminded me of something like Married With Children, Bevis and Butthead, etc.

The very first panel started with action. I appreciated that.

I also really liked the panel sequence of Mark's boss smoking in the office. The silent panels showed the boss's annoyance quite well. The comic was great with showing facial expressions and body language. I really got a sense of how much the characters despised or liked each other.

Mark kept getting kicked in the balls, figuratively speaking. I liked his attitude. I was definitely rooting for him. I didn't see the twist coming in the middle/end of the comic! Plus, I LOVED the ending--what a cliffhanger!

There was also a nice scene of Mark sitting in the dark in his living room, looking at his laptop. I loved the black and light blue. It gave a cool vibe.

I was kinda confused on the villain's motives, especially when he meets Sissonne and his sidekick, but it didn't stop me from enjoying the comic.

My favorite lines: 1) "Alright, Dingus, I'm about to pirouette you into next week." 2) "Also lucky for me, this town has the attention span of a dead goldfish and the I.Q. of a can of sardines."

I RECOMMEND this comic to read.

Keep smiling,
